CDC Recommendations for keeping your workplace safe

  • Require masks when feasible 
  • Conduct daily health checks
  • Require social distancing
  • Have many hand sanitizer stations. Especially at high-traffic areas like upon entering
  • Create a schedule to have few employees come in shifts
  • Reduce capabilities of common areas like conference rooms, kitchens, lobbies by removing most of the furniture
  • Encourage employees to stay home even with a slight cold to protect high-risk employees

  • You may not reopen if you’re not cooperating with the local or state orders
    • Or if you are not ready to protect high-risk employees
  • You must have all the recommended health and safety actions in place
    • Promote healthy hygiene practices
      • Handwashing 
      • Employees wearing cloth face mask as feasible
    • Intensify cleaning disinfection and ventilation
    • Encourage social distancing and fix space between employees
      • Physical barriers
      • Changing layout of space
      • Encouraging telework
      • closing/limiting access to communal spaces
      • Staggering shifts/breaks
      • Limit large events
    • Modify travel practices 
    • Train all employees on health and safety protocols
  • Is ongoing monitoring in place?
    • Develop and implement procedures to check for all signs and symptoms of employees daily upon arrival as feasible
    • Encourage anyone who is sick to stay home
    • Plan for if an employee gets sick
    • Regularly monitor and communicate developments with local authorities & employees
    • Monitor employee absences and have flexible leave policies and practices 
    • Be ready to consult with the local health authorities if there are cases in the facility or and increase in cases in the local area

Common Symptoms:

  • New or worsening cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

Other less common symptoms may include:

  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Seek Emergency Medical Attention if you’re experiencing:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion
  • Inability to wake or stay awake
  • Blue lips or face
